Lowell Gosa, lifetime Seminole resident passed away, Friday, July 3, 2009 at the age of 83.
Lowell was born, November 18, 1925 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Norman Mathis and
Pearl Jane (Thomas) Gosa. He was a resident of Seminole County for 83 years.
Lowell married Dadie (Myers) Gosa in Byng, Oklahoma on May 1, 1964, she preceded
him in death on July 26, 2004.
Lowell was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, store manager for
Continental Emsco Oilfield Supply and circulation manager for the Seminole Producer
in the Wewoka area. He also served in the United States Army in WWII earning the
rank of PFC.
Lowell is survived by son; John and his wife Susan Gosa of Seminole, Oklahoma and
two daughters; Jeanne Gosa of Seminole, Oklahoma and Julie and husband Jon Green
of Seminole, Oklahoma. He is also survived by two sisters; Hazel Hollon of McAlester,
Oklahoma and Verla and husband Don Keener of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. By two
grandchildren; Abigail and Rachel Gosa.
Lowell was preceded in death by
his parents; Norman and Pearl Gosa, brothers;
Ralph and James Gosa and wife, Dadie (Myers) Gosa.
Funeral Services
for Lowell will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009
at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Daniel Smith will officiate with
Scott Lenaburg assisting. Internment will be at Little Cemetery.
Casket Bearers are
Walter Shepherd, Kim Myers, Kyle Keener, J P Duvall,
Mackey Keener and Marty Joplin. Honorary Bearers are Tim Thetford, Brandon
Thetford, Bill Buvall, Mike Gosa, Terry Gosa, Tom Easterwood, Kevin Lloyd,
Jarrod Lloyd, Danny Keener, Edwin Gosa, Leon Collier, Bill Lloyd and the men
of First Missionary Baptist Church.
